COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE as at Monday 18th May 2020

This page is frequently reviewed and updated as we all navigate the impact of COVID-19 together.

At 11.59pm on Wednesday 13th May 2020 New Zealand moved from Alert Level 3 down to Alert Level 2, for more general details on our Alert Levels please click here to go to the New Zealand government official COVID-19 website.

So what does Alert Level 2 mean for The Mohair Store?

CHRISTCHURCH RETAIL STORE - Our Christchurch retail store will reopen during Alert Level 2, but we will be operating reduced hours as we navigate our new 'normal' and we do have a few rules we all need to follow in-store, they are on the door and we ask that you read them before you come in. We will still be offering our click and collect option for all purchases made via our website. Please use our local discount code GOAT (this is only valid for click and collect orders or delivery within Christchurch/Canterbury).

ALERT LEVEL 2 HOURS - Monday to Friday 10am - 2pm  or to make a time to shop outside these hours please email

If you don't feel like coming instore we are still available for virtual shopping, think FaceTime, Messenger Video Chats or Zoom, you choose and we'll make it work.

ONLINE ORDERS WITHIN NEW ZEALAND - All our website orders will be processed and collected by our usual courier service from Tuesday 28th April 2020.  Within New Zealand we use Post Haste and if you would like to find out more about their contactless service please click here.

INTERNATIONAL ONLINE ORDERS - We use NZ Post for our international shipping and at the moment there are significant disruptions & delays in delivery, for recent updates from NZ Post that relate to your country please click here.

OUR HEALTH & SAFETY OBLIGATIONS TO YOU - This is incredibly important to us and was part of the reason we choose not to operate during Alert Level 4 and we have waited until Alert Level 3 was announced. We have been closely following all the advice from the Ministry of Health and WorkSafe and have implemented all the procedures to operate safely at Alert Level 2.
